New Project!

Hello friends! Got any fun projects you're working on?

Here is something my sister and I are working on.... turning this fabric into a quilt!

Guess what this fabric is from?!? If you guessed crib bedding you are correct!

A family member contacted us about taking her little girl's crib bedding and making it into a quilt for her big girl bed. Love this idea! I think it's a great way to reuse materials you already have and make it a sweet keepsake.

So far all of the fabric has been seam ripped and washed. It's waiting to be cut as we finalize the plans. We're doing a disappearing 9 patch pattern. There is a great tutorial here.

If you have kiddos, what did you do with the crib bedding? Future parents, remember this it might come in handy some day! :)

Gorgeous Weather!

Here in Wisconsin we've been enjoying some unseasonably warm weather. Which is fine by me! We are all asking ourselves if it really is only March. Highs in the upper 70's with blue skies and sunshine!

Has anyone else been enjoying some warm weather or having serious spring fever?

Yesterday hubby and I had a picnic lunch on the shores of Lake Michigan and soaked up some sun!

{yes! this is in Wisconsin in the middle of March!}

I have a feeling we'll be doing this more often!

I Heart Faces: Beautiful Black and White Challenge

I haven't entered an I Heart Faces challenge in awhile, but I had the perfect photo for this week's challenge. This is one of my favorites from a styled shoot I did recently.

Mustard Dip Recipe

My mom had made this dip last weekend and she sent the recipe my way. Well, actually I demanded that she send it to me. See, I'm not a big fan of mustard, but I love this! And I knew it would go so well some homemade pretzel rolls. Also, it's easy peasy! Thanks mom!

Mustard Dip

1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup spicy mustard
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cider vinegar

Mix together and enjoy!

It's super tasty with warm homemade pretzels! I followed the pretzel roll recipe and shaped half the batch into pretzel shapes, and the other half into the rolls. All other directions were followed the same.

Note - My husband isn't a big fan of mustard either, and is indifferent about this dip. More for me I guess!

Kitties like pretzel rolls too. Hubby accidentally left the bag open on the table after he made his lunch. He came back into the kitchen to discover one of the cats had pulled one of the rolls from the bag and licked the top clean of the salt. Ha ha ha ha lucky little kitty.

Vintage Winter Styled Bridal Photo Shoot

Hello friends! I've got something special for you today. Over the weekend I did a winter vintage styled photo shoot! I had been pinning some inspiration to a board on Pinterest for awhile and I finally got to make it a reality. Thankfully the weather turned out great. We had just gotten about 5 inches of snow the day before. I love how the snow is just one big reflector!

Without further ado!
